Actress Taylor Momsen was on the set of Gossip Girl in a scene I can only described as "Schoolgirl Gone Bad." I'm not sure why she's dressed in black leather with a tiny skirt while her friends are in their uniforms, and truly, I don't care. Will it get me to watch the show? No...no it won't, but it's a nice try. Next time get her naked and make the schoolgirls look like THIS, and we'll talk.

While the idea that a mob of reporters and paparazzi would be that determined to get a piece of Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen is completely absurd, this viral video commercial by Nike is one of their more clever attempts at underground marketing. They also do a pretty amazing job of swapping in the stunt double; for a second there I almost believed it was Momsen getting all Spider-Man on us.

Several weeks ago I wrote an article about how the show Gossip Girl was starting to get a little creepy, as they had 23-year-old Chace Crawford making out with 15-year-old Taylor Momsen. Well, I suppose reality can be even more messed up than fiction, because according to Page Six the two are now dating in real life:

Everyone in the cast of Gossip Girl is hooking up with each other - and Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen are at the center of the latest smooching session. A Page Six spy spotted the co-stars sneak away during their holiday party at Haven on East 51st Street to steal kisses in the corner, but Crawford's rep denies it.

You'd better believe his rep denies it, considering there's this little thing called statutory rape in the state of New York. Look, I understand that actors and celebrities often get away with breaking certain laws - such as Lindsay Lohan getting consistently plastered in clubs before she even turned 21 - but I was always under the impression that this gray area didn't apply to laws like statutory rape.

And even if they weren't kissing and this report turns out to be false, what the hell is Crawford doing hanging out with a 15-year-old in the first place? If he wants some young ass I'm sure there are plenty of 18-year-old girls who'd be more than willing to help him out. Right now Roman Polanski is reading about this in Europe and throwing things across the room.

You may recall that the CW's much buzzed about show Gossip Girl actually used negative quotes from family groups and newspapers to promote its second season several weeks back. The concept proved to be effective in terms of increased ratings and viewership, and I liked it because the campaign was essentially pissing in the face of people calling the show inappropriate for casually depicting relatively normal events in the lives of teenagers (sex, drug use, etc.). But the episode that aired last Monday, Pret-A-Poor J, may have crossed the delicate line that separates edgy from just plain creepy. When you run a site like this, you become very familiar with this line.

Let's recap the scenes in question, which both occurred within a 3-to-5 minute stretch. First, as you can see in the photo above, you have Taylor Momsen, who not only plays a 15-year-old but actually is 15, and Willa Holland from The O.C., who's 17, dancing around in their bras while a much older guy takes pictures. I tried this same thing last weekend and I assure you it can be a lot of fun, but when the police arrive that whole "it's okay, I'm a photographer" bit doesn't work so well.

But don't worry, Chace Crawford's character Nate saves the day and rescues little Jenny Humphrey from what he calls a "bad scene," then drags her away. Fine. Understandable. Then this happens...

While I'm sure Taylor Momsen absolutely loved filming this scene because the ladies think Chace is just dreamy, I'm guessing it was a bit more awkward for 23-year-old Crawford. That's right, we have a guy who's 23 making out with a 15-year-old girl. It's one thing to joke about jail bait (which we do frequently around here), but you're not supposed to act on it. Not on camera at least - that's evidence.

Something tells me the marketing team for Gossip Girl is going to have plenty of material for their next ad campaign.

Actress Taylor Momsen, known for her role as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, was hospitalized earlier this week in Los Angeles with a potentially life-threatening infection in her throat. US Weekly reports:

"I have been treating Miss Taylor Momsen for the last few days," Momsen's doctor, Shawn Nasseri, tells Usmagazine.com. "She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday.

"She has been an excellent patient, and after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days," the doctor adds.

Momsen, 15, was in L.A. to take a school exam when she "woke up with a sore throat," a source close to the actress tells Us.

"She thought it was just a common cold, but was advised to see an ear, nose and throat specialist before getting on a plane back to New York," the source adds.

If Momsen wasn't a mere 15-years-old this is the part where I'd make a crack about what she could possibly have put in her mouth that would lead to an infection.

See what I did there? I made an inappropriate jail bait joke but pretended not to at the same time. In my defense, I totally thought she was at least seventeen eighteen. Momsen has to be the only actress on the planet who ever played a role on a TV show where she's not about 10 years older than the character she's playing.
