Here's some background for you: Ashlee Simpson got a job on the new version of Melrose Place. Her sister, Jessica, was very VERY annoyingly happy. Now, Ashley is being let go, because she was hired for one season. Her sister is now irrationally upset. - I don't think Jessica understands being hired to work for only a certain amount of time, because there's no term limit on being an idiot.

"CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press," Jessica wrote on her Twitter page on Sunday night.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com in late October, The CW announced Ashlee and co-star Colin Egglesfield would be dismissed from the "Melrose" cast in January following the end of the "Who Killed Sydney?" storyline.

While the move may have come as a surprise to fans, executive producer Todd Slavkin previously told Entertainment Weekly it was in the cards all along.

"Once that murder mystery was solved, [Ashlee's character] would go on her way," he said. "That was the original plan going into the development of the show." (Access Hollywod)

Can we work murdering Jessica into the plan somehow? No, not in the script. Right here, with this machete. If you film it, I promise you'll get more viewers than you ever did with her sister.

Jessica Simpson was out partying with her sister Ashlee over the weekend and got very very VERY drunk. At least, that's what people at the bar said. I can't really tell with Southern girls. Either that smile means they're wasted and a good time, or friendly but will punch-you-out if you make a move. I'm not sure if it's the beef steroids that their farmer fathers inject them with or the fact that they have pig lifting contests for fun, but those girls are freakishly strong. I assume Jessica is the same way, it's the only way she kept up with Tony Romo for so long. I heard she made him sob nightly, and not in the "I'm so happy to be sleeping next to all this" kind of way.

Ashlee Simpson was photographed with her absurdly-named baby, Bronx Mowgli. Now that the kid is several months old, I'm sure Pete Wentz is starting to get suspicious and wondering if he's really the father. "But Ashlee, WHERE are his emo bangs?! This can't be right!" Maybe that's why Pete has been busy partying with strippers in Las Vegas instead of changing diapers. That or he was scared away by Ashlee's severely misguided taste in hats.

Fall Out Boy and Pete Wentz performed at The Palms in Las Vegas over the weekend, and to show her support wife Ashlee drove all the way out from Los Angeles, only to head straight home following the show to be with their baby. Pete was apparently so touched by this move that he decided to party with some strippers.

The Fall Out Boy bassist — who was without his wife of nearly one year — partied hard with about 50 band members, dancers and pals (including Girls Next Door star Holly Madison) following a sold-out show at the Palms Casino Resort on April 5.

"Everybody was going absolutely crazy," an eyewitness tells Star. "People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip 'n' Slide with a mat and lubricant. And Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band's own songs, grinding up against the dancers."

At one point he was "dancing on a pool table with the girls," the partygoer adds.

However, earlier in the day, Ashlee — who headed back home after attending FOB's April 4 concert in Irvine, Calif. — Twittered: "I am beyond sad to leave my love... My heart is breaking as we drive home." And also:"I need my hubs." (Star Magazine)

This whole story only gets better when you consider that at the exact moment her husband was probably bumping uglies with a stripper, Ashlee was on Twitter posting things like, "I am beyond sad to leave my love... My heart is breaking as we drive home." Which, I might add, she later removed from her updates. That's the great thing about Twitter - it allows us to laugh at celebrities in a much more personal way than before.

Don't worry, Ashlee, based on these pictures you clearly have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if the stripper had dyed black hair and ridiculous emo bangs, then I could see cause for concern.

Despite widespread reports that Jessica Simpson had been dropped by her label Columbia Nashville (a division of Sony), her rep explains that she is still signed on with her original label Epic.

Jessica's rep tells OK! that she "is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic's label."

So basically Jessica Simpson had been such a failure at Epic (an Epic FAIL if you will), they didn't even care if she produced an entire album with another label, figuring if she actually sold albums for once maybe they could finally make some money off of her. If you think about it, Jessica Simpson is probably the least successful famous singer of all time and if it wasn't for that damn reality show she would have faded into obscurity by now. Looking at career sales numbers, her sister Ashlee absolutely slaughters her, as does anyone else you've ever heard of.

Jessica Simpson is reportedly growing impatient with boyfriend and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who still hasn't popped the big question.

"Jessica was really hoping that she was going to get an engagement ring," says a source close to Simpson. "She wanted one for Christmas, then she thought maybe New Year's Eve. Her last hope was that Tony would propose on Valentine's Day--but he didn't."

But she shouldn't have been surprised. As OK! previously reported, Tony seemed distracted during a Feb. 13 dinner with Jess at NYC hotspot Waverly Inn, where he spent 15 minutes texting on his iPhone. "Jessica was not happy," an eyewitness tells OK!, adding that the Dukes of Hazzard star tried desperately to get Tony to focus on her. "He just wasn't picking up on the fact that she was starting to lose her patience."

"You know, I really thought he was going to make it happen this time. I thought he was ready to propose," Jess told Ashlee, according to a friend. "I know Tony loves me, but I don't know if he'll ever propose."

"Ashlee has always been the more realistic, more practical of the two sisters," the insider tells OK!. "And Ashlee knows how much her sister wants to be married and have a baby of her own. But as wonderful as Tony is, he is not the marrying kind--probably not for years." (OK! Magazine)

I can't imagine why Tony Romo would have any hesitation to propose. I mean, it's not like Jessica was married before and had a reality TV show where she made everyone who watched feel sorry for her husband, who seemed like a genuinely nice guy that had to put up with her crap and also constantly complained about never getting any. Why wouldn't an NFL quarterback voluntarily subject himself to that? I just don't get it.

Ashlee Simpson has reportedly been cast to star on the new CW remake of Melrose Place. So just in case you were thinking the show wasn't going to suck, now you can rest assured that it will.

The singer-actress has been tapped as a lead on the CW's "Melrose" update, returning to series television seven years after landing her breakthrough role on the WB's "7th Heaven."

On the CBS Par-produced "Melrose," Simpson-Wentz will play Melrose Place's newest resident, Violet, a bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret.

I don't know what's more ridiculous, casting Ashlee Simpson as a lead actress or the fact that they're now doing another remake of a trashy 90's television show. Soon they'll start remaking shows that no longer make cultural sense, like The Jeffersons, except they'll put a twist on it and it'll be about a black descendant of Thomas Jefferson who is elected President and has to put up with all of the old racist white senators in Washington. Actually, that would be way better than another Melrose Place. If this trend continues they're going to have to put a colon after the HOLLYWOOD sign and then "OUT OF IDEAS" right beneath it.
