The site's name was inspired by Paul Thomas Anderson's brilliant movie There Will Be Blood - specifically the awesomeness that is Daniel Day Lewis and his portrayal of Daniel Plainview, an oil man who loves nothing more than money, blood, and drinking the milkshakes of others (figuratively, not literally). A guy like that would love Hollywood, so connecting the two seemed appropriate. If you haven't seen the film yet you're really missing out and we feel sorry for you, you philistine.

If you're just curious about Celebrity Milkshake and the people who make it happen, well then here you go...
Jay Tierney, Managing Editor - Also the Co-Founder of Intercraze Media, which publishes a number of other web sites in addition to this one, Jay came up with the idea for Celebrity Milkshake and brought it to life. Born and raised in the wine country just north of San Francisco, he graduated with a B.A. in English from The University of California at Berkeley (and no, that does not mean he's a Birkenstock-wearing hippy... or Asian). Before starting Intercraze Media he worked in the operations division at Fastclick.com in lovely Santa Barbara, and left the company shortly after it went public in 2005.
Alex Shebar, Senior Editor - One wonders if a person is born snarky or raised snarky? Alex was born in Boston, Massachusetts, where he still likes to visit, eat clam chowder and pretend to be in a Martin Scorsese film on occasion. He graduated from Syracuse University (GO ORANGE!) with a dual-major in English & Textual Studies and Print Journalism. Alex now works for The Enquirer in Cincinnati and on occasion has been known to rock out on the drums. You can follow him on Twitter at @Alexshebar.

What kind of software do you use to run the site?
We use PHP Modulator for our CMS (Content Management System) along with PHP Smart Cache to make it run super-duper fast and not kill our servers. Both programs were developed by us after many years of hard work and tinkering. No, they are not for sale; however, we may make a modified version of PHP Smart Cache to speed up Word Press and other blog software for those of you having issues with traffic loads.
Can I write for Celebrity Milkshake?
Actually, right now we're in the process of hiring a few editors/writers, so possibly yes. Visit Intercraze.com for more information and to apply.
