Hayden Panettiere is hot, and nothing ruins that like having a baby. This is why I'm glad that she's going to wait to be a mom - even if when she starts, it seems like she's never going to stop.
"I want a family. I want kids. I actually want a lot of kids. Not like ten, like four," Hayden said at Candie's Foundation town hall meeting on teenage pregnancy prevention in NYC on Wednesday. "And if it’s something that you go, 'Oh I can’t wait to be a mom,' that’s great, but think about it for your child and go, 'I want to be a mom but I want to be the best mom I can be. And the only way to be the best mom I can be is by waiting until I’m no longer a child and waiting until I can teach them the best morals and raise them the best I can with a good education and a good platform.'" Wow, those are some smart words. Still, it's hard to respect them when Hayden then commended the event's other speaker: Bristol Palin, the unwed teenager mother and daughter of Sarah Palin.
"It's very nice that she's come out to support this, and it's nice to have her," Hayden said. "Teenagers get to look at her, and she can say, 'This happened to me.' This is all politics aside. She is just a girl out here saying, 'Look, it happened to me -- it can happen to you.'"
Ok, Hayden, let me get this straight. You don't want girls having babies if they would be unfit mothers and it would be bad for the kids. However, if it happens accidentally, then it's completely fine. Sure, there's no damage to the kid THAT way. Ugh. Hayden, you've got to pick your company better when making moral statements. It would be like standing next to Madonna and giving a speech about how sacred marriage and family is. It just doesn't work.
