Jessica Simpson doesn't care what you say about her - Unless it's nice. She likes the nice things. The 28-year-old singer and actress says she ignores all her critics by putting her fingers in her ears and going, "LALALALA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
"When it comes to media criticism, that's just something I have had to train myself literally train myself to ignore," she said. "Because I'm the one up there onstage, and I can feel the energy of the crowd. And I know when I did good. And I know when I did great." (Vanity Fair)
Jessica was attacked by her fans earlier this year for messing up lines and forgetting lyrics when opening for Rascal Flatts. Again, she doesn't care.
"There wasn't one time on this tour when I felt like I butchered it," she said. "I mean, the way people make it sound, I should have never been singing in the first place... (Criticism) comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media's going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I'm at such a place that I own myself, and it's authentic... None of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them."
Oh no, Jessica, don't listen to your fans, just keep doing whatever you want. It's not like you're making entertainment for these people! Ugh, celebrities like this need to be slapped out of their own little world. No wonder
John Meyer wanted her to just be quiet and look pretty. But Jess does have a speck of truth in those candy-covered-words, complete with a nutty ego center: We didn't want you singing in the first place. We don't want you singing now. We can't stand the idea of you singing in the future. Please, do us a favor and just shut up and smile. It's really all you're good at.
