The Chris Brown Rihanna assault story just keeps getting stranger. We already knew from previous reports that what started the fight was a booty call text message Chris received on his cell phone, but TMZ is now reporting that the mysterious texter was in fact Tina Davis - Brown's manager.

Sources tell us the woman who left the three-page text message on Brown's cell phone is Tina Davis. Davis -- who turns 40 this month -- was rumored to have had a relationship with Brown when he was 16. Brown and Davis have denied it.

Law enforcement tells us the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later -- and it totally pissed off Rihanna. She slapped and hit him and he then brutally fired back.

As more and more details are revealed, this whole incident is only getting more twisted. I figured Brown may have been banging some teen groupie on the side, but not a cougar. Either way, when you get busted by your girl, beating the hell out of her and hoping the resulting coma will result in short-term memory loss probably isn't the best way to handle the situation.
