Over the weekend Chris Brown became the Ike Turner of a new generation, as he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna, during an altercation that took place while the couple was driving away from a pre-Grammy event. E! News reports:

In a statement, police say Brown and his companion "became involved in an argument. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker."

By the time officers arrived on the scene, Brown had split.

Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, decided against singing a medley of "Disturbia" and "Live Your Life" at tonight's awards. Likewise, Brown scrapped his scheduled performance of "Forever."

All of the guys out there aspiring to become wife beaters one day should take note, it's probably not a good idea to beat the shit out of your girlfriend the same day she's supposed to perform in front of a national audience at the Grammy Awards. As if this story wasn't already strange enough, the comments from one of the police officers who processed Brown after he turned himself in were dumbfounding...

"He was very professional and didn't appear to have injuries," said Sgt. Bridget Pickett, adding, "He's a good looking young man."

I'm sorry, but did Chris Brown turn himself in and then immediately proceed to blow this guy in the police station bathroom or something? He's a good looking young man? Yes, I'm sure he's positively wonderful. It's good to know if the music thing falters he has a good right hook and could be a sensation on the amateur boxing circuit.
