When it was announced that Hilary Duff would be starring in a remake of the iconic Bonnie & Clyde, actress Faye Dunaway, who played the original Bonnie, had only one comment upon hearing the news: "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"
So E! decided to ask Hilary if she had heard about what Dunaway said and how she felt about it. The response was a lot more honest than they were probably expecting:
"I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is. I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."While I completely agree with Dunaway that this film does not need to be made and if they're serious about it they should at least get a better actress than Hilary Duff, she should know by now that if you're going to be brutally honest you'll get the same type of honesty thrown right back in your face. Ouch. On the other hand, if I were Duff I wouldn't get too cocky just yet, as this thing is going to get absolutely trashed by critics when it comes out.
