Joining the parade of idiot actors who read a Scientology pamphlet and now think they're medical doctors, Bijou Phillips went all Tom Cruise while being interviewed and lashed out at antidepressants, the people use them, and the psychiatrists who prescribe them. Here's a small taste of her misinformed rant:
"My grandparents didn't take any pills, and they were fine," Phillips said in the February issue of Paper. "Just buck up and get over it. Stop being such a f---king pansy."I suppose Phillips also thinks people who become addicted to various substances like drugs and alcohol are pansies who should just stop taking them, right? Oh wait, I forgot, she had to go to rehab a few years back so I guess in that case it's acceptable to be a pansy. Too bad she couldn't just buck up and get over it.
I have no problem with actors or celebrities who share their political beliefs because an intrinsic part of democracy is that every vote or opinion counts; however, when it comes to issues like psychology and depression, if you don't have an advanced degree in a medical-related field then do the rest of us a big favor and shut your trap because you have no idea what you're talking about. And if you're a spoiled actress and model who went to rehab, duct tape your mouth shut just to be safe. Bijou must be French for hypocrite.
